I think you both are referring to canon service tools, so I want to add:
Who knows any sort of service tool / program / utility for the HP B9180 ?
..because my problem could come from software as well as from hardware...
@PeterBJ thank you for sharing all these findings.
I'm searching for a service manual or any kind of parts list with illustrations for
- HP B9180 or HP B8850
Are there any HP users around here? HP service papers seems to be very rare, I'm now searching long ago..
This may be a bit off-topic, but I think it's the other way around: a set for glossy paper is probably made of diluted PK only, and if you want to use it for matte paper, you have to switch the undiluted PK (for the K position) to undiluted MK, using the second "spare" cart.
At least this is the...
@mikling
That explains why my r800 is so prone to what looks like "clogging". I've read it some time ago and to better understand it I found this pdf:
http://www.lorentzcenter.nl/lc/web/2011/466/problems/4/de Jong et al - 2006 - Air entrapment in piezo-driven inkjet printheads.pdf
But in this...
"the channel" means the way of the ink, from the outlet of the cartridge to the nozzle. With the carts sitting on the printhead (no tubes from stationary carts to the moving printhead like some other models) this path is very short and so one or two cleaning cycles will replace all ink in the...
Last update Inksmart UC vs Fotonic XG after 3 weeks,
B&W sample using all colors, and the color sample.
I have no idea why the B&W seems to be more stable printed with XG
but not the color sample..?
Looking at the trees and babies, the weakest color of XG seems to be Y,
while in the UC...
Most users don't know this, even on the marrutt site with the different patterns to download I see no information. Because you don't need to know about this for actual printing.
These are two ways of "partitioning" the color circle, RGB is used for light and together adds to white light, while...
there are colors and colors... in this case RGB from the file and CMYK from the ink.
As I have read, a magenta bar for example means the following values
R 255
G 0
B 255
now the printer will "translate" this to
C 33
M 78
Y 0
K 0...
one more source:
http://www.marruttusa.com/printer-maintenance/inkjet-printer-purge-files.php
But note that the printer will use more colors than say cyan only for printing the cyan bar.
Only nozzle checks do that. Or QTR in calibration mode.
But for purging it works, because it will use almost...
Now I have to admit that I don't know this kind of design .. didn't even realized that you are talking about a Maxify.
But anyway just try it this way and see if there will be any effect...
For soaking I simply want to say that the printhead
- not only should soak from the bottom, with the nozzle plate "sitting" in the cleaning fluid
- but also should receive some fluid from top, in other words from where the ink would flow in..
Best way to do this is...
There is the known risk with canon home printers that a damaged printhead can damage the circuit board of the printer too.
At least after error blinking and error messages this risk may be 50:50...
And there will be no way to proove this except for trying a new head and (a) everything is fine or...
Let it soak overnight, also pour some liquid from the bottom of your cup (where you put your printhead in) over the inlets so that it would flow through from above. You have to repeat this because the upper part can only hold a few ml to flow in from above..
But I have to agree with The Hat...
Nobody out there using one of these printers, b9180 or b8850 ?!
I need help to repair a probable hardware issue:
my b9180 seems to ignore the loaded paper, moving it through the feed (from the lower main paper tray through the back side up to the print path) and then out of the printer -...
So this nozzle check seems to be the end of the story..?? ...I thought it was the beginning..
Nevertheless it doesn't look look like an "electrical" failure to me. No regular or geometric failure pattern.. and the fact that cleaning did help (although not enough) is a good sign, this may be no...
The Hat, I agree that Martijns printhead has most probably a electrical issue, C and Bk shows regular failure. The chance of cleaning may be 1%...
But the text black is okay, the printer could be used for B&W documents only.
But yours doesn't show this kind of regular failure, and the chance...
I don't know this particular model, but in general there are these methods
- cleaning cycles .. which sometimes help sometimes not, and because it flushes the channels with ink it may be expensive, unless you are using 3rd party ink. I would not execute more than 4-5, especially when it becomes...
