This is on my brother's printer. He reported whacked out colors showing up on his print all of a sudden. I reported the incident in another thread. I am 5 hours from him so I couldn't put eyeballs on the problem and we attempted to troubleshoot over the phone. I had him purchase OEM carts...
I had always thought that the chip from one color cartridge couldn't be installed onto a different color cartridge. Recently my brother mis-inserted two of his cartridges the PM and M and never realized it, nor, apparently did the printer either. This leads me to the conclusion that ANY chip...
Ok update and resolution. My brother discovered, upon receiving and installing a fresh set of OEM carts that he had SWITCHED THE MAGENTA AND PM carts! This created the wonky colors in his prints as displayed in submitted images above. At least I have him on the road to 'recovery'.
I have tried to explain profile to my brother, but he just doesn't get it. His 'own inkset' is some generic cheap crap he bought somewhere. I have forbidden him to do any further printing, he has just ordered a full 8 cart set of OEM. Once he gets those we are going to see what kind of prints...
Thanks for replies! I am not so good at finger-peck-typing on the phone so had to wait to fire up the 'puter. Neil Slade taught me how to refill carts decades ago. NEIL SLADE INKJETs Hell I've even painted an old hobby car I had with his great methods and it turned out great! NEIL SLADE I've...

No 7 bracketed shots each 1 stop raised from underexposed to overexposed then overlayed and merged for HDR effect. It was cool what happened the occupant was only visible in the last two exposures and actually those are both only one eye but as it rotated his head to look that space between his...
I set up a ladder since this birdhouse was a bit high, and shot a series of X7 RAW images with bracketing. Once I got these shots loaded into my computer I overlayed them to get to this combined image. Anyone notice anything?
OK so Precision Colors, or purchase the specific megatank inks GI-23, and clear ink base to mix the photo/light inks. Is the black ink in the Pro100 CLI-42 a pigment ink then with the others dye? I see Black, Cyan, Grey, Magenta, Red (not needed) and yellow available. Is anyone actually doing...
I have 14 gauge needles on hand, do you think these will work or will the hole required be too large and allow spillage? (I guess I also need to be concerned with compressing the sponge.) I could always just tape up the hole I suppose. This same method will work with CLI-42s also right?
EDIT...
