I was actually thinking about the possibility of a double system: reactive dye ink with a special treated microporous paper that contains chelating colourless metal salt that works as a fixating agent. This way the paper can be used for any type of ink (If the ink is not reactive to metal ions)...
Actually the best colour configuration with optimal gamut, good gloss and minimal amount of colour inks would an 8 colour print head (likewise used in R3000/Epson Pro 38800/P800):
matte black, photo black, vivid magenta, cyan, yellow, gray, chromatic red and gloss optimizer
combined with the...
Spyderprint: terrible device. I sold mine many years ago. Even the standard 50 + 50 method of the Colormunki produces superior profiles compared to the 729 "High Quality" method of Spyderprint, which also takes enormous time to read and even then the quality is poor. Blues tends to go out of...
At this moment already 5 years now. Fingers crossed: until now no problems with MK/PK switches, maybe sometimes a cleaning cycle is needed to free up nozzles after a switch for the black channel.
The P800 is much sturdier in that aspect: I own 2 P800 printers (successor to the Epson Pr 3800.3880) and finger crossed, until now no problem with the valve switch and what I have read on the internet it is almost none existing unlike the Pro 3800/3880, unlike the Pro 3880 I owned previously...
Ohh, Mac OS: that says it all. Very problematic operating system concerning profiling (often double profiling or even worse) after each update....You know: when I used a iMac computer, I had to run virtual Windows and using a program to print within the virtual Windows session to get consistent...
If you want to be sure and be prepared to sacrifice some ink: with the P800 I had to execute 5 cleaning cycles to flush the tubes and prime the print head with the new ink: It is best NOT to execute the 5 cleaning cycles consecutively, but execute 2x in a row, wait about 10 minutes, again 2x in...
Thanks Lothar for the update: I did make an error in one of my posts concerning the Inktec Powerchrome K3 ink and it should be P800....not the p900 (maybe of my Freudian desire to upgrade hahaha). Did you purchase the version with the paper roll option ?
Having an Epson WF-7840 AIO printer, my printer is programmed to send a scan directly into my mailbox, which I forward to the person concerned. Does it exist: and RJ 11 wireless adapter to send the data from printer to your VoIP-unit ?
I once attend a life video of jtoolman and he mentioned me: pharmacist used to buy from precisioncolors.com, but not anymore now.....Yeap: How comes you think  ???
It is a pity the first generation of ecotank and megatank printers suffered from the same illness as the older cartridge based printers: no user replaceable waste ink tanks. Many people thought those printers were money savers but were inconveniently surprised after a few years of intensive...
Disable driver signing in order to force the installation of the driver. Windows 10/11 tends to suppress the installation of non signed drivers like ArgyllCMS.
I just printed another picture using the two different profiles and this time it looks very similar. Same black level (visually no difference compared to the prints above). Maybe it was caused by the fact the ink particles tends to concentrate in the print head after one week no printing and...
I discovered the newer Colormunki seems to produce a visually darker black, despite not visible in the gamut views. Very strange. If you look at the pictures of the baby, you see the right image with the newer Colormunki has a bit darker blacks (see the image of the BW printed scenery in Venice...
I only have one waste ink tank: I do not like to throw away plastic (environment), so after 3 resets (still one reset now) I will exchange the sponge material with folded kitchen paper towel to absorb the ink. Just keep resetting the original waste ink tank and you are set.
