    BCHTechnologies.com is (mis)using my work.....

Recently due to some strange guy revering continously to Kevin's site: bchtechnolgies.com I have found some blatant plagiarism of my work: https://bchtechnologies.com/blog/optimizing-printer-profiles-colormunki-native-software-vs-argyllcms/ original post by me...

    ArgyllCMS 875-patch printer profile with i1Pro 2

Actually the black level is now normal to my eyes when compared to other matte papers. However: the purple/blue has the about the same blackness as your black point. Maybe you did print with the HP Premium Glossy paper setting on this matte paper, which omits the black ink when printing "black".

    ArgyllCMS 875-patch printer profile with i1Pro 2

I have looked at your profile for matte paper and the black level is really out of this world, not even reached by the P900 with the special extra black mode: this way the blacks are coated with extra LLB and MB to increase blackness. I think it is an artifact by the Spyder3print or your black...

    ArgyllCMS 875-patch printer profile with i1Pro 2

I think it has to do with two things: the paper, is the backside paper like (cast paper) ? And which driver setting you were using to print the target: is it some type of HP Glossy paper setting or did you use normal paper setting ? Also the T120 does not have dedicated photo black, only matte...

    ArgyllCMS 875-patch printer profile with i1Pro 2

After I have installed the profile, I checked the profile with iccview.de Softproofing with Photoshop with the new profile to see if there are any strange colour gradients (sign of reading errors) using the relative colorimetric intent and NO black point compensation to evaluate if the...

I think Mooredesignlabs...

Datacolor Spyder Print - selected target image

I think the target can be found in the directory where spyder print is installed. I am a bit surprised you use the Spyderprint: I found it a terrible device and not accurate (especially the reproductions of blues that are turning into purples).

Media Black Points and Fading Test 106 114 T54C GI-53

I have noticed that for example Canon Photo Paper Pro has a particular smell, making me think it contains some kind of aldehyde impregnated into the paper. Aldehydes are known to have a reducing action on dye molecules thus stabilising the colour.

Last weekend I was able to obtain 15 packages (7x A4 (50 sheets) 8x 10x5 (100 sheets)) of the Expertiz 300 gsm PE glossy photo papers from somebody in my own town, who's printer broke down.

The LK made from the PB is actually 15%, so the LLK would be only 5% PB

I also prefer semigloss/luster/pearl/satin papers, but some really prefer glossy paper and pigment ink is suboptimal for those of papers but works greaat on semigloss/luster/pearl/satin papers.

Epson SC-P800 pigment printer converted to dye ink printer

Yes you are right: but the first tests gives me a much better gloss on all the glossy papers I have tested. However on pearl/satin papers I prefer pigment inks, whereas dye does not give me the extra whow effect like glossy paper + dye does.

Epson SC-P800 pigment printer converted to dye ink printer

I have 3 SC-P800 printers, but dye ink is superior for high gloss papers, so I made of of my SC-P800 printer a dye ink printer version. The others are pigment.

Today I had the time to refill a set of refillable auto reset cartridges with original Epson Claria HD ink extracted from ecotank ink from bottled 106 (CMYK) and 114 (G). These inks are proven to be very fade resistance. To obtain the light versions the CMG inks are diluted with my Clear Ink...
