Has anyone found anymore information on how to test a print head to make sure you don't kill the main board? or anything more about this problem?

Is there a way of testing a print head for a Canon i865 with a meter before installing it in the printer? I have recently had a print head kill a printer - no longer powers up. Also does anyone have the complete service manual for this printer - all the ones I can find don't have the appendix...

On the Nozzle check the second line on the Cyan one half is lighter. Does that indicate a fault on the print head? I have tried the clean routine several times and a deep clean but it hasn't made any difference. Does anyone know if can get a good replacement print head from anywhere if I need one?

Is there anything that can be done when you get 5 orange flashes - apart from replacing the print head? It was printing but missing out part of the black printouts so I need a clean which didn't fix it then did a deep clean and then got the error. (I refill the print cartridges). I tried...
