Am I defecting to Canon ?

There is a very long media list from which you can pick one - and even about 5 different film/foil type materials, the surface of those won't absorb the solvent of the ink so the overall ink load should be reduced , and this can be tested with these special media types if the standard settings...

Am I defecting to Canon ?

There is as well a Canon TA-20 24" printer apparently pretty similar to the TM-240, but it's for me not an ink issue or similar, it's the overall interface of the printer/driver intelligence with the user which I don't get along with. I would assume that other similar Canon printers overall...

Am I defecting to Canon ?

Yes, I use cotton gloves to handle that glossy paper. I went through various submenues and disabled various options like scew detection - left edge detection and more of those , none explicitly state that they deactivate the paper length identification but one does - I could load a 2" glossy...

Am I defecting to Canon ?

My printer can send you an e-mail in case of problems as part of its 'intelligence'; I even can define that this should happen at 1 m or 2 or 3 or 5 or 7 or 10m before the end of the roll. Thanks for trying to help me - I'm coming to the conclusion that part of the problems are stemming from...

    Epson 15000 Ecotank ink (102)

No ,most likely not - there could be a difference with the black inks - pigment vs. dye inks, the Epson pigment black is only active via the driver for normal/matte papers. The other inks may deliver the same color tone and saturation but not the same longevity/long term stability/UV resistance.

Am I defecting to Canon ?

Thanks for the tip, but that didn't work, not at the last time already. The printer remembers error conditions over unplugged power off conditions over night and tells me that I didn't shut off the printer correctly and starts some internal action for 5 minutes until I can make the next attempt...

    Epson 15000 Ecotank ink (102)

??? - anyway - you can unscrew the top of the bottles with some force and swap them over to the other bottles.

Am I defecting to Canon ?

I'm pretty much coming to an end with this TC-20; I printed yesterday some inages and turned the printer off in the evening. Turning it on this morning the printer moves the paper back and forth a few times and tells me that there is a paper jam - no - there isn't , and the paper does not want...

Am I defecting to Canon ?

I had some time over the last weeks to print and use the TC-20 printer - the print quality as already mentioned above is good - no problems with banding - the gamuts as tested on various papers - with the GI-53 dye inks instead of the PFI-050 pigment inks - are very good and comparable with the...

    Epson L805 printer performance

I just changed the waste ink pads on my L805 - photo 6 inks A4 - the first time after 51 788 pages with lots of images - probably 8000 - 10 000 A4 - on temporary display and give away at a dancing school. I'm running the printer with the Epson 106 inks, access to the waste bin is quite easy -...

    ArgyllCMS 875-patch printer profile with i1Pro 2

I checked the 875-target.tif mentioned above, the file shows a total of 4398 unique colors and not just 875, there are additional colors as borders between the color patches. Could you please recreate the target sheet with all borders set to black, I like to see if and how the 9x9x9 3D matrix...

    ArgyllCMS 875-patch printer profile with i1Pro 2

It could be that a paper sensor would not recognize a pre-printed sheet anymore as a blank sheet; I never tried that. 8 bit vs. 16 bit - it's a matter of internal calculations - the profile correction value for every image pixel needs to be calculated from the profile tables, this value need...

    ArgyllCMS 875-patch printer profile with i1Pro 2

It's the visual impression at the end which counts , and if the profiling passed without errors differences in prints should be limited to very small color ranges , and you would need some monochrome area with such color as well in that image at which you could see that difference.

    ArgyllCMS 875-patch printer profile with i1Pro 2

Yes, tlhis last 9880 Epson Semimatte profile looks pretty much o.k, gloss related problems may show up earlier on glossy - semiglossy papers. I regret but I threw away those offending papers long time ago already

    ArgyllCMS 875-patch printer profile with i1Pro 2

This is the gamut plot at L*=13 for the 3880 PremSemimatt profile of June 29/24, it looks pretty normal every image pixel has a particular color which is a mix of the CMY base colors, and the mix ratio of these need to be controlled and adjusted because the CMY base colors are not...

    ArgyllCMS 875-patch printer profile with i1Pro 2

It's how the paper surface is reflecting the measuring light coming from the spectrophotometer, and the vast majority of papers can be tested with the standardized 0/45 deg light path in the photometer before the light hits the sensor. But as mentioned a few - a very few papers come with a...

    ArgyllCMS 875-patch printer profile with i1Pro 2

Yes, changing the patchcount can get you around the problem , but the first problem is that you need to identify it - and the number and type of tools is very limited for us as non-commercial users. I was testing that problem-paper longer time ago and I changed the patchcount - I don't...

    ArgyllCMS 875-patch printer profile with i1Pro 2

The i1Pro1 came in two versions - a regular one and a UV-cut version - similar like the ColorMunki spectro. The UV-cut Pro1 has a small circular UV filter disk in front ot the sensor, such filter is supposed not to block visible light but only UV-light which is close to the visible light. The...

    ArgyllCMS 875-patch printer profile with i1Pro 2

Please do a rescan; @pharmacist is addressing scanning errors. Yes - they are there , they may be caused by some variations in manual scanning speed and/or pressure, and if you may get different results (with tolerances outside the equipment spec) it is a handling problem. I'm using the i1Io...

    ArgyllCMS 875-patch printer profile with i1Pro 2

I'M not an ArgyllCMS user but had a look to the finished profiles - yes, the gamut is pretty good overall - with OEM Epson paper and Epson inks, I'm comparing here just the -smatt type with a profile which I created longer time ago for my P7600 , discarded in the meantime. I was using other...
