Eric Crawford
I am disabled perhaps retired. I have an Epson Artisan 730 with a printpayless pianobook CIS. I previously had a Canon Pixma IP4200 and used the european software and a cd carrier off of Ebay successfully for years to print on DVDs until the electronics went awry and no amount of cleaning or unclogging would get the black to print. So, I bought the Epson and it has worked well for a couple of years, I made the mistake of printing a book and my black ink went dry. Now it looks purplish. No amount of cleaning or nozzle checks from the front panel will restore it. I now have to resort to a more drastic approach to cleaning the actual print head using a kit of some sort. I used to be a tech and a design engineer, but my vision is not as good as it once was.
