John, I appreciate the video links, both are very good. However, after following the steps in the second video and using Piezo Flush, I still get the exact same nozzle check pattern. When I say exact, that is exactly what I see, nothing is changed. I never got around to trying a different...
Reporting back, after removing the printhead and manually cleaning it quite thoroughly, then running a nozzle check, the result is virtually a clone of the pre cleaning nozzle check. I then ran one deep cleaning followed by a nozzle check, the result is as far as I can see identical. Both of...
Before I proceed with the advice above, I have had around 7 or 8 of these printers over the years. We currently have two up and running at our house. Having had problems with the heads in the past, I vaguely recall someone saying that moving a problematic printhead from one printer to another...
Thanks, I really appreciate your detailed response, I will get to this over the weekend. I have some experience removing and cleaning these heads, so I am not too squeamish in this area.
In trying to resurrect one of my MX922's that has been sitting unused for about a year, I am getting quite severe smudging which you can see in the attached files. I've run both the Bottom Plate and Roller Cleaner procedures, neither seems to make any difference. Any suggestions on what is...
While refilling my Precision Colors refillable carts, I filled one of the two blacks with the wrong ink. Should I drain the cart and then refill? If so, what is the best way to go about this? The other option I see would be to get two new carts and start from scratch. Any suggestions for how I...
Success at last, what appears to have worked was a bit of air pressure through the cart with a syringe. I am baffled why it did not work earlier as I tried several times on the problem colors. So I used a bit of air pressure, following up with a head cleaning, and finally the orange has a...
Well I tried letting the Piezo Flush soak for an hour or so without success. In looking at the cart, it may be that it has lost it's prime. There is a small amount of ink in the round chamber, I'm just not sure if it is enough. Will reprime and see what I get.
First, thanks for your response! That is how I started, using the Piezo Cleaning Fluid and their dummy cartridge and cleaning as per their instructions. When that did not work, I proceeded to follow the instructions that I found at InkProducts. Gently pushing air through the cartridge vent...
I use the InkJet Plumber App to do print test pages every 50 hours or so, it's a great little app. I recently found that it had stopped working and for a couple of weeks or so no test prints were fired. Several of the colors were clogged and all brought back except for orange. Using both Piezo...
I may have found the problem, the printer driver. My Epson driver is version 9.80, this on my Mac running Big Sur, but I see on Epson's site that version 12.62 is available. I would like to update, but I know that there can be issues with firmware updates locking the printer when using third...
I'm using my Epson SureColor P400 on my Mac with Big Sur (11.7.1), and I get the error "Epson Printer Utility 4 cannot be launched". According to MacRumors, the Epson Utility does not run on Big Sur. I can check ink levels, print test pages, etc. but I need to get into the utility to change the...
I had the same issue, my Apple prevented the program from running. Going into the Privacy and Security Settings was the work around. Inkjet Plumber shows up in the menu bar along with Bluetooth, Displays, etc. I just installed it today and ran two test, it appears to be fine. Inkjet Plumber did...
Success at last! :) After more than a week, I was finally able to get my P400 printing again, mostly with the help from those who chimed in on this thread and a couple of YouTube videos. The attached nozzle checks are the two most recent. I think the turning point was the technique of gently...
